The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is considered one of the best hybrid vehicles on the market, and it's getting an upgrade in 2023. There are many new features to look forward to, and more details will come with its official release in November, but for now, let's take a look at what we do know! 

What's new for 2023?

The 2023 Outlander PHEV will receive many updates as its sibling, the traditional Outlander. However, the Outlander PHEV will be powered by a 4WD PHEV system made by Mitsubishi Motors. It will also come standard with the S-AWC control system, providing the driver with seven total driving modes. 

Updated Interior

The new Outlander's interior has been updated in the cabin. There will be a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a head-up display. There will also be more room for passengers in the second row to travel comfortably. One of the most exciting features of the 2023 Outlander is the added third row which easily adds the ability to seat 7. The third row can also be quickly folded to make more room in the trunk. 

Fuel Efficient 

The 2023 Outlander PHEV will continue to use a 2.4-liter incline and 4-cylinder engine. However, there will be updates to the rear and front electric motors. There will be a 40-percent increase in output with the front and rear motor combined with the battery. The battery will also only take approximately 7.5 hours to charge. 

Safety and Technology 

Each 2023 Outlander will come with adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, and automatic front and rear emergency braking. With set charging times and reminder alerts for your battery, you'll never be caught off guard by needing to charge your vehicle. The Outlander will also be equipped with forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist. The Outlander will also have Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration and wireless charging pads. 

Warranty and Maintenance

Mitsubishi is known for offering outstanding warranties for all their vehicles, and this will extend to the 2023 Outlander PHEV. The limited warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles, and the powertrain warranty covers ten years or 100,000 miles.
